"Children are growing up in an increasingly complex and demanding world. We need to prepare them to be able to approach an uncertain future with confidence, to enjoy the challenge of change.

Each child is unique and each equally deserving of the opportunity to reach their potential. Nevertheless, they also need clear boundaries and a supportive and structured environment in which to explore their worlds and discover their own individual passions and talents.

The School has two significant objectives forming part of the School's Constitution. Hunter Valley Grammar School will:

For each of its students provide a balanced education which will embrace their intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development; and

Model itself as a learning community which encourages the pursuit of excellence in all areas and inspires in its students the desire to become lifelong learners.

My challenge at HVGS is to provide a first class educational programme which keeps at its heart educating young people for a 'good society' for which they will be key.
