In today's society, academic achievement at the highest possible level is essential for success in a chosen career.
Hunter Valley Grammar School is committed to providing all students with quality academic programs in all subject areas. Our teaching staff are highly qualified in their specific areas and are committed to nurturing the talents of individual students so that each child can perform to the best of their ability. Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 are given a solid foundation in English, Mathematics, Humanities, and the theoretical and practical sciences with enhancement opportunities available in each of these core areas for the more able students. They also have the opportunity to develop their practical and problem solving skills in subjects like Design and Technology where designing and planning the work is as important as the finished product.
The School also offers Languages Other Than English (LOTE) including French, German and Japanese within a whole-school modern language framework. The union of both creative and practical skills also carries over into the arts including Music, Visual Art, and Drama. A broad range of
co-curricular opportunities complements the academic program and the school enjoys great support in this from its parent community. It is a 'family' school which recognises the needs for all of the participants in a child's life to work together for the benefit of the child.
