Considering a lifestyle change?

Renowned for its natural beauty, easy access to beaches and exquisite reputation as a foodie’s paradise, the Hunter region is a great place to live, work and play.

We know that quality schooling options factor into the decision making process when choosing where to live. Hunter Valley Grammar School enjoys a strong reputation as the leading independent school in the region.

Students walking in vineyard

Many HVGS staff have worked in some of the most recognisable schools and iconic corporations in Australia; but they chose to work here because they believe so deeply in the standard of our educational program, the positive culture of our School and the lifestyle benefits of leaving the hustle and bustle of the big city behind.

Explore our website to get a feel for our School, our teaching and learning philosophy, and our values and ethos.  Make time to come and visit – we’re sure you won’t need much convincing after that.

The Hunter region is fortunate to also offer excellent tertiary options with the University of Newcastle  – ranked among the world’s best universities – located right on our doorstep. This means that there’s a continuum of high quality learning options from the early years right through to adulthood, and it’s all available right here!

Maitland City Council provides some excellent information and tips about moving to Maitland.
