Outdoor Education

The Outdoor Education program is a compulsory element of the curriculum from Years 3-11, and is run by experienced external providers who work closely with Hunter Valley Grammar School staff. The program provides a range of activities including canoeing, fishing, bush-walking, abseiling, rock climbing and skiing.

The Outdoor Education program has been carefully designed to be developmental and aims to encourage confidence and resilience in our young people.  The program includes opportunities for students to work together co-operatively while building leadership and relationship skills. Outdoor Education provides a less formal setting in which students also develop initiative as well as an awareness of the environment, bushcraft and safety skills.
