Outdoor Education
Students formally begin their outdoor education at HVGS with a two day long camp in Year 3 at the Great Aussie Bush Camp. The program grows annually in duration and challenge culminating in the ultimatel Adventure Camp in the Barrington Tops for Year 10, where students spend four days in the Barrington’s bushwalking, mountain biking, canoeing, tenting and generally surviving the bush.

Years 7 and 8 students trek through the Colo River and Year 9 students accept the Urban Challenge of Sydney’s CBD. All year levels have suitably challenging programs involving time away from families in surroundings both challenging and rewarding. The formal outdoor education program is complemented by the Duke of Edinburgh Award program. Most students involved in Duke of Edinburgh accept an invitation to join the Vietnam community service program.
