Now is the perfect time to experiment with growing vegetables. It’s also a great time to experiment with new tastes. Take a look at what’s in season and plant some vegetables you may not have tried before. You can also plant some tried and tested favourites too!

Here’s some examples of seasonal vegetables that you may not have tried before which you can grow in April:.

  • bok choy
  • snake beans
  • beetroot
  • brussel sproutsĀ
  • celery
  • chilli
  • eggplant
  • fennel
  • ginger
  • leek
  • mushrooms
  • spring onion
  • parsnip
  • silverbeet
  • squash
  • sweet potato
  • swede
  • turnip
  • zucchini

Here’s some things to do while you’re waiting for them to grow:

  • Take a record of their growth
  • Find recipes that you can make with your veggies once their ready
  • Use the leaves in artworks
