Classroom Teacher - Junior School (Various Roles)

Junior School has several exciting Classroom Teacher opportunities commencing Term 1, 2027. 

The opportunities include:

  • One (1) permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) Classroom Teacher
  • Two (2) fixed term, full time (1.0 FTE) Classroom Teacher for the 2027 school year (1 year)
  • One (1) fixed term, part time (0.4 FTE) Classroom Teacher (relief from face-to-face role) for the 2027 school year (1 year)

A Classroom Teacher is a proactive member within our Junior School and is engaged in providing a stimulating, engaging, evidence informed and holistic education to K-6 students.

Work Pattern: These positions are to be on campus from 8:00 am until at least 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday each school day in accordance with the published term dates or contracted working days. Staff meetings and other avenues for collaboration require attendance beyond 4:00pm.

 

Key Duties

As a Classroom Teacher within the Junior School, you will have responsibility to:

  • Teach a K-6 class as Homeroom teacher, including 70 x 30-minute curriculum lessons in the 90-lesson (two-week) cycle and assemblies, roll-call and pastoral time

  • Work as an effective member of the team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills

  • Be proactive in providing an academically challenging, stimulating, and safe environment where students are enthused about learning

  • Attend all assemblies

  • Attend parent/teacher nights, presentation ceremonies and other school functions as determined by the Principal, some of these are outside of normal hours

  • Attend our annual school camps; which generally occur during term time and require nights away from home

  • Support colleagues by taking occasional relief lessons

  • Contribute to the co-curricular programme of the School

  • Have an active professional development plan and attend all required PD sessions & staff meetings

  • Be familiar and continually upskill in the learning management and information technology systems that the School utilises

  • Any other duties as directed
