The World is Waiting.
Thinking of enrolling for Year 7?
Our Year 7 students thrive in a dynamic, nurturing environment that fosters their growth and development during this pivotal stage of life.
Year 7 is a key entry point, and enrolments for 2027 and beyond are now open.
Many families choose to apply 2-3 years in advance, so we encourage you to join our waitpool early to stay well placed as opportunities become available.
Throughout Year 7 and students' entire Senior School experience, they will be encouraged to discover their strengths, explore their interests, and build both confidence and excellence. Intellectually, they will be challenged by an exciting curriculum designed to support the growth and nurture the potential of the whole child.

Let's start the conversationSenior Curriculum
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) is the framework used to explore the NSW curriculum in a way that supports students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Designed for children in Years 7 -10, it encourages curiosity, independence, and a love of learning by connecting different subject areas through real-world themes and experiences.
The MYP helps students build knowledge, skills, and values that will prepare them for success now and in the future, while also supporting their personal growth and wellbeing.
Academic Achievement
Year 7 NAPLAN at a glance...
Every student can meet their full academic potential in our School. HVGS students have an insatiable thirst for knowledge and they consistently achieve pleasing results. Most importantly, they do so in an environment that values their happiness and wellbeing as fundamental.
In 2025, our Year 7 and Year 9 students achieved above the national average in every domain.
Wellbeing
Adolescence is a time of rapid change - peer groups gain influence and parents may feel less so. While we can’t remove every challenge, we can help make the journey easier.
Our wellbeing structure ensures every student is noticed, nurtured, and safe. We know that when students feel happy and secure, they excel.
Each morning, small Mentor groups meet to set a positive tone for the day. Mentors monitor each student’s social, emotional, and academic progress, remaining a constant presence from Year 7 to Year 12.
A Head of Year and Head of Stage coordinate wellbeing activities, inviting expert speakers and facilitators to work with students. Overseeing it all, the Deputy Principal/Head of Senior School ensures student wellbeing and academic growth go hand in hand.

Year 7 Transition Program
Our transition program is second to none. Over a full week, new and continuing students experience life in the Senior School. They’ll meet their teachers and other students, and follow a Year 7 timetable. They’ll also meet key people who will form an integral role in their learning and wellbeing for the years to come.
- In Term 4 (prior to starting Year 7), we undertake academic testing so we know how best to support or extend your child in their learning. We’re not an academic selective school – so no pressure!
Year 7 Co-curricular Opportunities
Our co-curricular program is exhaustive. Students thrive in sport, performing and visual arts, technology and STEM, academic and enrichment, debating, environmental and agricultural opportunities. We’re confident your child will definitely find something to engage and excite them.
Inspiring spaces
Our school feels more like a park. We have a special campus, quite rare amongst schools.
Green open spaces, architecturally designed buildings, integrated technology and resource-rich classrooms make days spent at school enjoyable and engaging.
