We view service and leadership as important components of a young person’s development.
Our leadership program and community service initiatives are designed to instil leadership skills for students at all levels.
Formal and informal leadership opportunities are embedded in the School’s academic, co-curricular and sporting programs, so students feel supported and empowered to explore their individual and collective leadership capacity.
Leadership & Service
We promote the philosophy of service-based leadership. It’s embedded in our School Values and is a part of what makes us tick.

junior leadership
- Junior School voices are represented at the Student Representative Council (SRC). Two representatives are elected from each class by their classroom peers each semester. The SRC promotes fundraising for various charities and well as classroom based initiatives. They also represent the School at community events including Anzac Day ceremonies.
- Each year Junior School Captains and House Leaders are selected from Year 6. They have responsibility for the organisation of school assemblies, fundraising and community service initiatives.
senior leadership
- Senior students can join the Leo Club and experience service in action through participation.
- All Year 10 students are encouraged to explore their leadership potential through the Student Leadership Group. Specific training helps students develop leadership capability as they establish leadership projects. The group meets with the Head of Year and the Head of Senior Students regularly to discuss aspects of leadership and to work on their specific projects.
- Once in Year 11, expressions of interest are sought from the Student Leadership Group for the badged leadership positions, and a comprehensive selection process begins.
- Each year we select School Captains, Vice Captains, Prefects and House Captains. Our School leaders are great role models in the School. Meet our 2022 School Captains .
- Senior students are often involved in mentoring younger students in co-curricular activities in sport and performing arts.
- Year 12 students also mentor Junior School students through the ‘Big Brother/Big Sister’ program. Year 12 students work with the same Junior School class each week creating special friendships across the School, and modelling exceptional leadership to younger students.
